Unsound Osaka

Unsound is one of the world’s most influential festivals and platforms of electronic and experimental music. Established in 2003 in its hometown of Kraków, the festival has taken place in over 30 cities, and is always focused on adventurous sounds and building collaborations across borders.

The first-ever Unsound Festival in Japan will take place in Osaka from September 5 - 7, alongside major autumn festivals in New York and Kraków. The main focus is on Polish and Japanese artists, with headliners, legends and rising names. Many are collaborating for the first time, or presenting special projects. The first announcement includes the main program at Creative Center Osaka, VS Centre and the Ohtsuki Noh Theatre. A second announcement is coming soon, focused on late night club music in smaller clubs across Osaka, as well as the outdoor local DJ stage at Creative Center Osaka.

Unsoundは、世界でも有数の影響力を持つ電子音楽と実験音楽のフェスティバル／プラットフォームです。2003年にクラクフ・ポーランドで設立されて以来、これまでに30以上の都市で開催され、常に冒険的なサウンドを追求し、国境を越えたコラボレーションの構築に焦点を当ててきました。

日本初開催となるUnsound Festivalのプログラムが、2025年9月5日から7日にかけて、大阪市内の複数会場で開催されます。今回のプログラムは、今秋開催が予定されているニューヨークやクラクフでのメインフェスティバルと並ぶ一連のシリーズとして展開されます。大阪版では、ポーランドと日本のアーティストに焦点を当て、伝説的な存在から国際的に注目を集める新進気鋭のアーティストが出演。初共演となるステージや特別プロジェクトの発表も多数予定されています。

プログラム第一弾発表では、クリエイティブセンター大阪（名村造船所跡地）、VS.、大槻能楽堂でのメインプログラムが明らかにされました。今後発表される第2弾の発表では、大阪市内各所で行われる深夜のクラブイベントや、クリエイティブセンター大阪の追加出演者にフォーカスした内容が予定されています。

SEPTEMBER 6 - CREATIVE CENTER OSAKA

Produced with Japanese club Circus, Unsound takes over the former shipyards of Namura Shipbuilding, located at the mouth of the Kizu River and now a creative art complex and event space. With a program encompassing ambient to experimental music, to club and rap, the festival will feature 3 stages, including Partita, Black Chamber and an outdoor stage with DJ sets.

The Partitia program features Polish pianist and composer Hania Rani with her new work Chilling Bambino featuring piano and electronics, as well as Osaka legend ∈Y∋ – of Boredomes – presenting a A/V show with C.O.L.O. Polish producer 2K88 will play a set based around his album SHAME in which Yokohama MC ralph will make a guest appearance, before performing a blazing solo set. Rai Tateishi opens, performing a set centered around shinobue, the ancient bamboo flute, with live processing by Koshiro Hino.

In Black Chamber, new collaborations initiated by Unsound come from Osaka duo KAKUHAN performing with Polish percussionist Adam Gołębiewski for the launch of their album Repercussions. Japanese sound artist FUJI||||||||||TA teams up with New Yorker Ka Baird for a work exploring breath, air, pressure, rhythm and noise. RP Boo, the Chicago pioneer of footwork club music, will work with Polish drummer and musician Gary Gwadera. 

Local DJ’s playing on the outdoor stage will be announced soon, along with another couple of artists performing in Black Chamber.

Unsoundは、日本のクラブ「CIRCUS」との共同制作により、大阪市湾岸部の住之江区北加賀屋に位置する名村造船所大阪工場跡地である「クリエイティブセンター大阪」を会場に開催されます。現在はクリエイティブ複合施設／イベントスペースとして機能するこの場所に、アンビエントから実験音楽、クラブミュージック、ラップまで多様なジャンルのプログラムが展開されます。STUDIO PARTITA、Black Chamber、屋外ステージの3つのステージが用意され、屋外ステージでのDJセットも予定されています。

出演は、ピアノとエレクトロニクスによる新作『Chilling Bambino』を披露するポーランドの作曲家・ピアニストのハニャ・ラニ（Hania Rani）、大阪の伝説的アーティスト ∈Y∋とC.O.L.OによるA/Vショーなどで構成されます。

また、ポーランドのプロデューサー2K88のアルバム『SHAME』を軸としたセットには、横浜のMC ralphがゲスト出演し、その後ソロでもパフォーマンスを行います。オープニングには、昨年goat主宰の日野浩志郎のプロデュースによりソロアルバム『Presence』を発表したgoatのメンバーであり、かつて太鼓芸能集団「鼓童」に所属していた篠笛奏者・立石雷も出演。日野によるライブプロセッシングを組み合わせた最新パフォーマンスが披露されます。

また、Unsoundによる新たなコラボレーション作品として、日野浩志郎と中川裕貴によるデュオKAKUHANとポーランドの打楽器奏者アダム・ゴワビエフスキによる共作アルバム『Repercussions』の初演、日本のサウンドアーティストFUJI||||||||||TAとニューヨークのカー・ベアード（Ka Baird）による空気・圧力・呼吸・ノイズを活かした作品、シカゴのフットワーク創始者アールピー・ブー（RP Boo）とポーランドのドラマー ゲイリー・グワデラ（Gary Gwadera）による共演などが予定されています。

屋外ステージでのDJセットの出演者は、後日発表予定です。
